Our Pride members participate in Working Bees at The Sanctuary Women, Children and Pets refuge, on the southern Gold Coast.
The Sanctuary fills the void in emergency housing for victims of domestic violence on the Gold Coast. Since opening their doors in 2016 the refuge has been at full capacity every week.
Women at the refuge have access to specialised counselling, life skills training and access to a full range of medical services, including a visiting Doctor, Psychologist, Pre-natal Counselling and Massage Therapist. By providing these services, women and children feel supported to help them overcome trauma and develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to regain control of their lives.
